It is COLD and it is WINDY but I had enough gear to keep me warm for the most part. It was great to be out because it is also SUNNY and one of those perfect Saturdays where there is nothing pressing to do and the break looms happily in front of you and the kids are happy and out of school.

The other day I was poring over ride of the KOM on Sulgrave, trying to figure out how the guy had done it. It seems that (a) he rides a lot faster than me and (b) somehow doesn't slow down at all when at the hill's steepest grade. Form this I decided that I have to stand and crank and attack at the steepest part of the hill. Interestingly I gain on my own PR at this point, but I was still way behind even that. I thought I'd had my best time but was behind it by something like 25s (14%). My sense are really off here. I'm hoping to get in some core riding over the Christmas break and maybe that will help.
