Maybe my most enjoyable run of 2024

Had to start as early as I could to make it to a birthday party that started at 9:30. When I got to Chabot around 6:30, it was still dark and the gates were locked. I was a bit worried, but I was planning to run about 20 minutes on my own before the lake loop, and just as I was finishing up, I saw the park truck driving away having presumably just opened the gates! Ben Pearcy, Jude Maes, and Luke  Washburn were punctual and it was great catching up with them. It wasn't too cold, pretty ideal temps, actually, and the trails were also in really good condition. I stand by my answer at Thanksgiving that Lake Chabot is the most beautiful place I've been to.
