Was really sore all morning and feeling that tweak in my lower back and glute area from my very small trip last night. It barely buffed me then. It nagged all morning. Didn’t help that there was a lot of traffic this morning for the kids’ commute to school, and then I worked for three hours before heading out with plans for a doubleheader.

I suppose the advantage to going earlier would’ve been cooler temps as today wasn’t as hot as it has been but still really, really hot. I wore the same old Ramones midriff shirt I wore yesterday at Chimney Gulch, but today for just some modest shoulder cover. I could’ve gone tops off, but I think that would’ve only drained me more.

As is, I was SOLID. Much like Chimney Gulch yesterday, I kept those feet moving throughout, always running, even if at a slightly slower pace. The result, again like yesterday, was a second-best PR, a personal silver, only 30 seconds or so off my best time. 

I can totally live with that.

It’s also currently the fastest Golden Hell Week time posted, but that doesn’t mean much. It’s only Tuesday and Golden’s got all the fastest runners. Still, excuse me if I take a moment to enjoy being king for a day, running my last Hell Week of my 40s. As is, I’m 23 days from 50, so there’s a good chance I’m the oldest in the 40-49 AG!
