Bucktail Easy Loop (Three Bears and Bucktail Loop)

Mountain Biking Trail

Moderate
3.73 mi
462 ft
A decent climb and a flow trail that are good for building skills.

This fun little loop is good for when you're short on time, or for newer riders looking to boost their skills. Bucktail is purpose-built, flowy singletrack through a meadow that's free of hazards. Riders of any level could work on cornering and building confidence with speed on this trail. The climb is on Three Bears, which is mostly a dirt road but still a burner of a climb. What's even better: According to [Ridge to Rivers]( Bucktail will soon be improved and designated for downhill bike travel only. This is pending the completion of a hiker-only alternative trail in 2021. Note: As with other trails in the Boise Foothills, these should be avoided when muddy. The soil here is highly erodible, and damaged trails can be impossible to repair. Written by Jesse Weber
