Western Transalp: Susa to Usseglio
Beginning at Susa train station, leave the town in the direction of Urbiano, following signs for “Rocciamelone.” Brace yourself for a steep start as you climb up and around part of the 3535m Rocciamelone mountain on terrain that gets progressively more challenging....

Pian della Rocca & One Way Only
This is a superb trail which lies quite far from the other Sauze d'Oulx lines and feels nicely remote. The access to the route is via an easy jeep track which leads away from the top of the Sportinia chairlift to the top of the Cote Faure chairlift....
3
Tippy's Witch
This is an exceptional trail, with 2 completely contrasting sections. The top half of the run is fast and flowy - you'll feel as if the bike is rolling along and riding itself while you simply sit on top; it's more of a rollercoaster ride than a bike ride!
The top section is quite straightforward and has a wonderful, natural flow to it....
4
Rockmaster & Fly to Bali
This is a great trip for those who like their riding bumpy! Your shoulders, elbow and wrists will all be working hard on this line, and there's ample opportunity to fall off, so keep paying attention! The neighbouring line of Tippy's Witch is slightly easier, so do that route first if this one sounds a bit too much for you....
5
Western Transalp: Usseglio to Noasca
Leaving Usseglio, continue along the main road running down the valley until you hit Versino, where you begin the first climb of the day up to Polpresa. Passing a few small villages on a gravel track, you eventually come to Mezzenile, where you need to cross the river and head on the main road in the direction of Fè and on to Cemesio, and then Passo Forchetta....
6
Sportina Express
This route is similar in style to the nearby red runs, just steeper and harder! Expect technical trail riding, with steep drops, root-y sections and some bumpy terrain as well. That's challenge enough, but the proximity of the chairlift and the audience it provides you with only adds to the stress! Depending on your character and confidence you'll either relish or resent the spectators watching you from the comfort of the chairlift....
7
Karamel
A fun route through open and peaceful forests, this is a great trip down a remote part of the mountain. The upper part of the route isn't especially challenging, so the route only gets the Severe grade because of the lower section, which can be largely avoided by following a jeep track which begins just after this route gets more difficult....
8
Gouriun Bis & Bubba's
Like its neighbouring route (Karamel), this line is not overly challenging except for a tough section low down. Like Karamel, the toughest bit of the route can be avoided by getting onto a jeep track and following this back to the chairlift....
