A classic alpine lake hike that's perfect for the whole family.
The Bloods Lake Trail is an extremely popular hike to a gorgeous alpine lake that is easily accessible from Guardsman Pass, above the ultra-popular tourist destination of Park City. With just 525 feet of climbing along its 2.7-mile round-trip distance, this fairly moderate hike is generally considered to be family-friendly.
The trail is well-developed, with a large trailhead with restrooms, an ample parking lot, and stone benches along the trail that allow hikers to rest if they need to catch their breath.
Even though Bloods Lake might seem over-developed to some hikers, you can't argue with the beauty. On this hike, you'll get to enjoy gorgeous mountain meadows filled with wildflowers, whispering aspen groves, towering pine forests, long-range views, and of course: a gorgeous lake at the end of it.
