An easy hike through a former Christmas tree farm and beautiful hardwood forests.

The Tree Farm Trail is one of the top family-friendly and easy hikes within Cuyahoga Valley National Park. In addition to a beautiful pond, the "trail loops through gently rolling woodlands" and includes stands of hardwoods and evergreens and offers a beautiful setting for a hike.

Wildlife, including "sightings of deer, fox, coyotes, and numerous songbirds," are quite common. Another birding [site]( writes how "this is an especially good area in which to look for red-breasted nuthatches and golden-crowned kinglets from late October through early March.

The trail derived its name from an adjacent Christmas tree farm owned by the Bishop Family. A portion of the trail even wanders through an area of the farm now owned by the NPS. The NPS requests that you "please respect the private property lines" when you're exploring this leg of the hike.

For the fisherman among us, Horseshoe Pond "provides a fully accessible fishing pier, and is a popular bass and bluegill fishing pond," according to the NPS. A fishing license is required to fish in any body of water within CVNP, and "park rangers can and do check fishing licenses," they continue. For the most up to date information on angling opportunities within the park, visit [this]( page.
