An easy, paved stroll through a green corridor in downtown Boston

Snaking through a series of Boston neighborhoods, the Southwest Corridor Path is a paved trail leading through a narrow strip of greenery. Moving along the path is much more enjoyable than traveling on the nearby artery roads, so the trail is busy with hikers, bikers and runners - all seeking a quieter way of moving through the city.

There are community gardens and public art installations along the corridor, meaning that in addition the flora, there is a cultural element to this hike. Simply stroll along and stop to take in any sights which grab your interest.

We've drawn the line here going to the Southwest Corridor Park, but you can walk as much or little as you choose. The trail can be reached at multiple points by either car or public transit, so the logistics of hiking it are simple. Written by Charlie Boscoe
