A short and easy walk through the forest near downtown Little Rock.
Allsopp Park is the perfect setting near downtown Little Rock to enjoy a relaxing hike through the woods. North and south loops are popular among hikers, runners, and mountain bikers, and there is even trail access from nearby neighborhoods. Restrooms and drinking water are available to all, and the park is a favorite spot for the entire family to enjoy the outdoors together. In addition to several miles of multi-use trails, Allsopp Park includes a playground, numerous sporting fields, tennis courts, group pavilions, picnic tables, and even more amenities. Many of the park's facilities are handicap accessible, and leashed pets are welcomed in most areas, including on the trails. Just be sure to keep an eye out for other trail users, especially mountain bikers, who could approach from ahead or behind. Other than the well-marked loop seen here, paved pathways and sidewalks also wind their way through the park. With some creativity, you could also link Allsopp Park to the Arkansas River Trail if you want to hike to or from downtown Little Rock. Sources: Written by Brendon Voelker
