Val Delle Mine is a peaceful valley with a great network of hiking trails just outside of the centre of Livigno. This hike takes you up to the Val Delle Mine refuge where you can enjoy delicious Italian refreshments and wonderful views of the San Rocco area....

Situated on a 1949m plateau are the tropic blue coloured waters of Lago di Cancano and Lago di San Giacomo, two reservoir lakes separated by a dam. Right next to the lakes and watching over the valley below are the Towers of Fraele, two military towers dating back to the Romans....

The Art Trail takes you on a surreal journey through the forest. Along the path, you will discover a series of wooden sculptures from the Wood’n’Art art symposium. The sculptures are by artists from all over the world, but each piece was carved from larch wood from the very forest in which the sculptures stand....

Lago di Livigno is large, beautiful, and almost at the centre of town, making it the perfect setting for an afternoon hike and swim. Beginning at the P4 Latteria car park cross the river and then head north to the lakeshore....

From the Pravasio car park just off the main Stelvio road, follow the S533 trail, and you will immediately enter a beautiful forest of larch trees. You keep on climbing up, passing a few benches with lookout points, a botanical garden on your right, and eventually a wide-open picnic area, which is great if you want to bask in the sun, not so good if you need shade....

Head up the Carosello 3000 for awesome views and access to some of the highest peaks in the valley. From the Carosello 3000 top station head in the direction of the alpine lake Lac Salin and on to the bottom of the Federia chairlift....

Take the lifts Bormio 2000 and then Bormio 3000. At the top, it’s a moonscape of nothing more than dusty shards of rock and a big open sky. It's barren, it's surreal, and it's strangely beautiful....

At Bormio 3000 you enter a moonscape, which is simultaneously very eerie and very beautiful. Right at the top, all to be seen is loose shards of rock and surrounding dalmatian patterned mountain tops with white patches of snow and dark brownish, almost black mountains....

This is an excellent hike if you want an uphill challenge through shady forest. In the village of Sant'Antonio take the S550 trail to the mountain huts at Calvarana di Sotto....
