The trail starts off the road, but sometimes it's tough to locate the exact trailhead. You will switch back up a steep section, which seems to be the theme of this mountain....

This is a fun but challenging scrambling route which can be completed in either direction, although counter clockwise is the recommended route as it makes for an easier decent. The trail starts out through the forest, but you very quickly start to hike up the ridge of Heart Mountain, where you are immediately rewarded with open views down the valley overlooking Lac des Arcs....

This traverse is very technical and very difficult. You will begin your climb right away, and it will feel never-ending. The climb up Ankle Biter is on loose rock, but it is a fairly well-defined trail up....
