A fun unmarked glade just beyond the Paradise Chutes
After a 5 minute sidestep from Paradise, the bookpack to The Church splits off to the left and Bear Claw begins to the right. This glade is much tighter than Paradise Chutes and there is no real path. The upper section begins with tight evergreens that will keep you on your toes. Make your way down carefully and watch out for low hanging brands. About half way down, the forest becomes more deciduous and you can open up your turns a little bit more. You’ll exit on Bailout. This glade is a go to spot on powder days, When there is a line of people waiting to drop into The Church, you can find solitude in these woods. Just make sure you get there before the locals do. Keep in mind Bear Claw is not maintained or monitored by patrol, don’t go unless you are an experienced skier. Written by Ryan Delena
