A classic Lofoten outing with all the right ingredients that make for a fun tour, Kvittinden is not very long or committing to skin up and therefore is a good option when the weather is marginal....

The starting point for this trip is in Skjombotn, about 1 hrs drive from Narvik. In Skjombotn, follow a tractor road until it ends and park your car (there are several spots)....

Ippočohkka is one of the highest peaks around Narvik, and one of the finest to ski. From the road, climb up the slopes just right of the creek to reach the lower part of a ridge....

A long, but scenic and rewarding route to one of the larger glaciers around Lossihytta (Lossi hut). This route is particularly attractive for late-season and summer skiing, as it holds snow until very late in the year....

When you are at the Lossihytta (Lossi hut) you cannot fail to notice the prominent Huinnarčohkka (1788 m) and its large, crevassed glacier. From the surrounding peaks, you can also see a prominent side and end moraine below....

This tour is a fine outing in the vicinity of Narvikfjellet, taking you to both south- and north-facing slopes. The lifts of Narvikfjellet provide quick access. Take the gondola to 656 m....

From Tredjetoppen ski directly down towards the south on the easternmost of the "5 fingers". This is a fun 30 - 35 degree descent on its own. At 1000 metres take a hard left and wrap around the ridge and then ski down into a drainage via a short but steep (40 degree+) drop....
