A classic journey, through magnificent terrain. Every bit as epic as the Patrouille des Glaciers, without the hype
This is a fantastic outing in a stunning part of the Alps that is well off the radar for most people. Every couple of years it is run as a race, and it would be very unusual to do this entire route in one go, unless you were doing the race! The start is traditionally in the dark, at 530am, with flaming torches illuminating the route for the first section. There are 2 feed stations along the way. The high point of the race is one of the highest peaks of the area, from which the race gets its name. The final descent has 2000m of height loss. Enjoy! Written by Jon Morgan
