Accessible even to beginner ski tourers, this trip past the famous Lac Vert and Châtelet d’Ayères restaurants is a very civilised way of getting some exercise - and calories! The terrain is straightforward and the scenery is staggering, with the Rocher de Fiz above you and Mont Blanc standing proud a few kilometres to the south....

This trip up Plaine Joux is only permitted when the resort is open. It involves some quite tight kickturns so, if you're new to ski touring, the nearby "Grimpee du Chamois" tour is a better introduction to the sport than this line....
