The most vertical you will find in the valley, following the western spur from the Ramshead.

From the top of the Ramshead you will find that the spur is relatively narrow, and although there is steeper terrain to the north of the marked run, it can hold less sun as a result of the northerly aspect, meanwhile the runs to the south of the spur holds the snow better as well as more sporadic vegetation. Once you hit the tree line, three major clearings through the trees can be identified fairly easily, as the run tracks down to Leatherbarrel Creek. This run can often hold the best snow and has the most vertical in the valley, and is an absolute gem. Follow the Leatherbarrel return route from the map to return to Townsend, skinning back up the valley, although skinning/boot packing up Golden Gully has been done. Written by Omar Elkadi
