Easiest way off the front of the Palisades

Located off of the top of Squaw peak. This is a steep run that ends up in Siberia Bowl. To access, exit Siberia Express, turn left towards the Patrol Shack and check signs to make sure the Palisades are open. Take your skis off and hike up the ridge line to the top of Squaw Peak. When on top, pass by the Chimney, Main and Extra Chutes on your left descend a little and National Chute is the biggest most obvious chute. On big snow years there can be a cornice at the top. It can be possible to traverse in from right to left or come in a little higher on a steeper pitch skiers left of the main National Chute. This is a north facing run and holds good snow. This is the one to try for your first time up the Palisades. Written by FATMAP Official
