A large cliff area in the far upper skier's right of the Sock it to Me Ridge.
The Championship Cliffs is a classic Crested Butte billy goat cliff section on the far upper skier's right of the Sock it to Me Ridge. It is a rocky area with large drops that used to serve as a venue for the U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Championships, until Brant Moles jumped the whole thing and they stopped using it. After the cliffs end, Sock it to Me proper begins. It tends to be a softer and smooth runout for the Championship Cliffs. To access the Championship Cliffs, take the skier's left side of the Edge and go up the hill to the top right of the Sock it to Me Ridge (don't cross the rope, or you can't go back). Committed skiers only. Written by Ed Dujardin
