🚴‍♂️ Filthy 50 Recon #1 - Training Prep Ride 🚴‍♀️

Join us for the Filthy 50 Recon #1 ride, where we'll kick off our training with a steady, comfortable ride. Here's what you need to know:

Starting Point: Bandy Canyon
Start Time: Please arrive and be ready to roll by 8am
Goal: 3 hours

Objective:
Use this recon ride to familiarize yourself with the route, gauge your pace, and refine your hydration and nutrition strategies. This ride is all about setting the stage for our upcoming training sessions. We'll focus on time rather than distance, keeping the pace conversational. The plan is simple: ride out for 90 minutes, then turn around and head back.

Distance Goals:
- New Riders or Limited Experience: Aim to get to the top of Raptor and back (10 miles).
- Intermediate Riders (Some Endurance Experience): Aim for Sikes Adobe (20 miles round trip).
- Experienced Riders (Strong Base): Complete the full 30-mile loop.

** Remember, we're aiming for 3 hours total, so turn around after 90 minutes. Go at YOUR pace. **

Hydration Plan:
- Start with 2 full, cold bottles of water and electrolytes. Aim to drink at least one bottle per hour.
- If you need to refill water (or need supplies) there are two options
Chevron Station at mile 10, near Sikes Adobe/Sunset Drive. Cash or credit card needed; slight detour from route).
Boat Ramp General Store - cash or credit card needed; slight detour from route.

Fueling -
Consume 50g (or more) carbs PER Hour. Plan your nutrition before you set off for your ride so you have a plan of what you are eating and how much.
