Green Mountain slow and low in the snow

Don’t even get me started on what a dolt I am about directions. Once again, I goofed, and I even caught myself, but then second-guessed and even third-guessed myself before forging ahead. It wasn’t all for naught as I’d take a top 10 finish on THAT downhill but it wasn’t the Hell Week downhill, so…

After a 10-minute break from the first run I set out again, this time much more prepared both in terms of directions, gear (I soaked a hat in cold water), and warmup—my muscles were ready. So while I thought I might experience a slowdown I instead was even faster on the second take, beating my own PR from last year by enough to secure a nice trophy for sixth all time! Should be a good Hell Week time, too.

Now, here’s hoping the extra three don’t burn me out for Galbraith later…

(Note: the Apple Watch doesn’t track distance well so I’ll correct for distance later.)
