Shall we say this was a beautiful ride… until it wasn't? Just as I started the steepest pitch on Zayante, I heard an awful noise from the rear end and was unable to make the rear wheel turn. Thankfully I stayed up. When I tried to debug it, the wheel was wobbling from side to side. I thought it was a broken spoke but careful inspection showed nothing wrong with them. Then I realized the crank wasn't turning the rear wheel. Bingo. Destroyed rear hub. That kiboshed the rest of the ride. I walked for about half a mile and then a Samaritan picked me up and drove me to Summit. I then coasted down the hill to Redwood Estates except for the spots I had to walk. Tell me this thing can be repaired!?
