I had a run in mind today, but I ended up going a different way. I had not run across the fields over the railway in a while and wanted to see how it was. It was not really muddy, but you do need to watch out for the uneven ground. I saw some ladies who looked like they were heading for a swim in the river.

There is assorted graffiti on the footbridge. Most is the usual junk, but there these little sketches including a racing car. I did not see any trains today, but I did see a long good train when I was coming back from timekeeping at parkrun yesterday. That was my 25th session of volunteering. I qualify for one of their shirts,but I really have enough running shirts.

I ran around the little hidden lakes and then struck out along a track that  I think has been a dead end at times, but led on to a marked footpath cut through the crops. I thought I could pick up a way over to Henlow Camp, but I think I needed to be further over and so came out by the main road instead. I just adjusted by route by heading into Henlow village.

It was fairly quiet there. Down one of the side roads you come out on a meadow and then a bridge leads across to the big lakes. Then it was farm tracks down to Champney's and I picked up the parkrun course back to the road bridge over the railway. I took a long way back through Arlesey, but did not quite stretch it to 10km.

The last bit was a diversion down a side road where I was suddenly hit by strong winds. It had been fairly calm before then. It was generally sunny though.

I had a podcast from Radiolab about black holes and another of Richard Herring talking about his testicular cancer. The latter is funnier than you might expect, but it makes you think about your health.

I wore my trail shoes today, but it was not really slippery and they ended up cleaner than when I started as the old mud fell off.

I would like to be running further, but that will do for today. I have some gardening to do as well.
