Bit of a late start but I had to get my beauty sleep 💅🏻. 2hrs in legs said no but I said we’re doing this no matter what. Up lookout felt strong-ish again. Headwind started. Oh boy. Big bonk time when i get to Id. Springs. Sandwich at Two guys Deli and big coffee (which didn’t do anything lol). Loveland pass was the crux of the trip so I just turned my brain off and got there. Cross-eyed by this point. Beautiful mountains up the pass made things fly by a little faster but the altitude was painful. Spent like 10’ taking pics and getting high off the mountains and then the descent was 👌🏻. Bit of a slog to Frisco and at this point I was completely spent lol. Lady at gas station asked if I was okay. I was not. 1 more climb up Vail pass and I was home. Again decided to put my head down and just do it but my legs failed my big time lol. Snowy towards the top. Major waist-deep postholing for like a mile was so demoralizing i just wanted to sit down and cry. But I was so close!! Finally made it over and then downhill all the way back home. 10.5hrs of headwind was brutal and hopefully I’ve completed my headwind quota for the year lol. Tough day but I’m so happy i did it.
