Ate and slept well.

There was more than negligible pain in the left ankle region (my screen door sliding skills need some work - timing was off and it banged the left ankle s couple days ago). I had some thoughts of DNSing moments before the event started and instead working on improving my assistant to the chief timer skills some more.

But decided to at least start the event as a long run and take it mile by mile. If pain increased, I'd planned to drop out and redo the training plan after some more weeks of rest. Started at the end of wave #1 (near 2:20 pace group) and slowly worked my way through the course. Rain stopped and humidity felt low enough to make it a very pleasant running weather.

First 10-11 miles were a conservative effort - mostly in light of last weekend's bonked long run. With about a mile and half to go, decided to pick up the pace some more but in a controlled way as Stephen had showed me in Rhinelander.

Finished with a time of 1:45:55 - at about 8:00 min/mile average pace. It exceeded the A goal I had going into this event (8:30 min/mile) as a long run. Grateful for ankle holding up better than expected as well. Got to see, chat and hangout with several friends before and after the event. Good outing.
