Afternoon Ride

Day started with a long, long, long climb on a 4x4 trail. Trail was so loose and steep that I had to walk most of it. Reward for the climb was a crazy long 20+ mile decent. Passed through a burn area a the end. It was kind of eerie like passing through a grave yard.

Takeaways from this trip are - I need easer gearing, don't carry so much water where resupply is plentiful, get quicker at breaking camp and get up and moving before first light. Overall good trip. I was much slower than I will need to be at Silk Road, but I think that can be mostly explained by the massive amount of hiking I had to do.
