Well, I rode the best 100 miles ive ever ridden. Too bad the race was 206 miles🤪 Was top 12-20 upto 100 miles. But basically I was; 
World tour for 50 miles
Conti pro for 30 miles
Cat 3 for 20 miles
Vomiting infant for 56 miles
Back to a cat 2 for another 50

For some reason, I had a massive gut issue shortly after feed 1. Maybe drank too much from the camel pack or too much sugar or it was just super hot, or I went too hard in the first half, probably a combo of all those things.

It was a carbon copy of 2019. My stomach was full of fluid but nothing was absorbing. I tried drinking and eating and I would just puke it up. I went 3 hours without taking anything in. BARELY made to rest stop 2, laid down for a bit, ate solid food, took some salt pills, got a great hug from Dan the Canyon Mechanic, and headed out to finish. 

Felt terrific in the final leg and had an overall great time. But yeah, I let a top 15-20 slip away. That stings, but I finished and I road great for the 1st and 3rd sectors of the race. 

I’ve never had digestive issues other than here in Kansas. I’ve used this fueling strategy dozens of times with great success. But A LOT of other people had similar issues, most didn’t finish. 63rd was my final position. No power meter on this bike, so it’s estimated and not accurate. Based on how I felt, I avged 2,000,000 watts for 12 hours. True story.
