With the Oakland Marathon understandably cancelled, Russell and I set out to patronize whatever donut shop was open for takeout on our GPS art path.  I acknowledge the risk, as it was a long time to be outside (8am-4pm).  We took turns with one of us running on the sidewalk, the other (or both of us) on the street.  Thanks to Russell for his company and pacing me in my sluggish late miles.

Mercifully for our stomachs, many were closed either on Sundays or because of COVID-19.  Together we ate the equivalent of about a dozen.  You can see who was open (9 of 25) and what I had below.  By the end, I had that odd feeling of still hungry but unable to eat donuts anymore.  Thus, we deduced that donuts may not be the best high performance fuel. 😅

✔️ Dynamo Donut & Coffee: 1 spiced chocolate
❌ Jelly Donut: closed for renovations
✔️ Happy Donuts (Noe Valley): 1 maple cruller
✔️ Bob's on Baker Street: 1/2 of an apple fritter
✔️ Hahdough: 1/2 of a mixed berry Berliner
❌ Grand Mission Donuts & Bakery: closed
❌ Jim Georgie's Donuts (16th St): closed
❌ Milkbomb Ice Cream: closed, scheduled to reopen later in year
❌ All Star Donuts (5th St): closed on Sunday
❌ Barbary Coast: closed on Sunday
✔️ Bob's Donut & Pastry Shop: 1/2 of a maple buttermilk
✔️ Mochill Mochidonut: 1/2 of a matcha milk
✔️ All Star Cafe (Market St): 2 donut holes
❌ Dough: closed on Sunday
❌ Vive la tarte (Howard St): closed
❌ Frena Bakery and Café (Tenderloin): closed
❌ Happy Donuts (Tenderloin): closed
✔️ Johnny Doughnuts: 1/2 of a strawberry
❌ Happy Donuts (Columbus): closed
❌ Heartbaker at Jackson Place Cafe: closed on Sunday
❌ Pepple's Donuts at the Ferry Building: haven't seen it open for a while now
❌ Mister Bomboloni, Village Market, Ferry Building: not available for a while now
❌ Trish's Mini Donuts, Pier 39: all of the pier closed
✔️ Krispy Kreme: 1/2 of chocolate iced with sprinkles
