When you look at the La Sal Mountains of Utah in profile, there’s a beautiful skyline made up of the range’s three groups. Melissa Beaury and I have been working on creating a route that traces the skyline as closely and as efficiently as possible. This is it! 16 peaks, about 30 miles, 13,700 feet of climbing and 14,600 feet of descending if you go south to north (don’t believe the Strava vert!), a few miles of singletrack, some glorious tundra ridgelines, some goat trails, and a lot of scree and rock piles. Our total time out was 16 hours and 42 minutes. More info to follow, because we hope others might enjoy the La Sal Skyline in the future.

RHR 48 last night. Quick night of 5.5 hours of sleep before an o’dark thirty start.
