Why does nobody follow traffic laws?

Afternoon Run

Sent a squirrel into a panic

Pulled hip flexor at around 5 miles but it felt ok until the tram. Took a wrong turn (5 min) which I tried to make up - which was probably a mistake.  By the 8th and 9th miles (last two before the tram) I was bonking, my legs were fried, I was fried (and dehydrated), and my hip flexor was shutting down.

I THOUGHT I would have to call it at the tram because I could barely walk with my cramped up hip flexor.  After an hour and a half (2 hours?) of drinking water I tried to stand up and realized it felt a little better, which meant I could limp around. I decided to start hiking(?) up to meet Rebecca and Andrew and hike back with them. Then I started jogging. I saw them with a mile left to the top, so I decided to just go for it.

This trail should not be attempted in June. I’ve read that it should cool down 5 degrees per 1k feet but if there is no wind it just keeps heating up. I was roasting the whole time. Barely made it to the tram on 1.5L of water.  I needed about 3-4L after that to finish the whole run.
