G-ji and Roadkill can't run as bandits with friends in the race down Rockville Pike, so instead circle the town on the Millennium "trail" (aka sidewalks) starting at mile #5. Bright sun warmth alternates with gusty wind chill -- both of which are fortuitously depicted by arty house decorations we see in the final miles. Thomas Farm Community Center is 10 minutes short of opening when we arrive so we orbit the neighborhood and take photos at the Mile 0 marker.

"I love the smell of paint! Do you feel high yet?" Solvent fumes waft across the path from the industrial park. We divert to inspect civic artwork and check out the Mayorga Coffee warehouse-outlet where chia seeds are on deep discount sale.
