Stayed with the lead group until Fountain Hills. I felt great! The weather was perfect, birds were chirping, and life was good. Then we went uphill on Palisades and it felt like I got run over. All the birds died of bird Ebola, the clouds rolled in, and life was a terrible mess. I barely hung on to the group I was in for the last 10 miles. Of course, 5 minutes after finishing I had coffee and life was perfect again. I love road races!!  :)
