(Not) 2024 Peachtree Road Race *

Ran after wrapping up the day’s proceedings and before the big Technical Reception. We had planned on running to and around the Piedmont Park. Based on Jay Woodbeck's recommendation (thank you!), we opted for a workout around the Active Oval - about 800 meters of hard-packed gravel track - in the Piedmont Park.

The workout was 10 sets of (200m off and 200m on). The 'on’ portions felt progressively better/smoother and about half of them were into pretty stiff winds. It was amazing (and humbling) to get lapped by my fast SC24 friends. To entertain a few little kids, we all acted as if we were breaking tape when we crossed the FINISH line they drew on the track.

To and from the Active Oval doubled up as W/U and W/D, and involved some long stops for street crossings as well as good conversations. A bit windy but quite pleasant weather. Very good run.
