First C1 Race for this season and straight into points race with the first FAL and FTS 700m into the race. Made the first 1km absolutely crazy but soon settled after that.

Tried to make an effort to just stay middle of the back and actively think about recovery ready for the first climb. 

On the climb I kept with the front group and tried to slowly build the pace so I was right on the front at the top leading into the sprint. Managed to get I think 10th on the sprint. Likely not FTS points but FAL points won. 

Following that climb it was short period before the evil climb through the pain cave. 

Again was with the front group but on the second half of this climb watched them pull away. At this point it was eyes shut, head down and pedal hard. 

No sprint at the end in the legs but managed to come across the line in 13th on screen. 

Happy with the result and felt I was stronger than last season. Moving in the right direction.
