Home from Gatlinburg via Cades Cove day 1

Went surprisingly well in my handup dress pants and button down shirt. Button down was perfect for when it got hot and saddle sores aren’t too bad. Handup pants don’t get caught in your chainring but they aren’t quite as aero as skin or leg warmers. Got down to freezing with frost in Cades Cove. Cold for a while but it was warmed up nicely. Cades was phenomenal with an inversion layer so other than being cold it was fun and scenic. Surprised a cardinal back in Townsend and it turned quickly as it was flying towards me and then it pulled its wings in and flew through one of the holes in a chain link fence. Almost ran into tree that had fallen across the roads on US-321. Then a car came from the other side and they didn’t see it until last second. I was running away from the tree in case they plowed into it. A few more cars came and then the police came. I was able to climb around the top of the tree
