My hip still works...but it certainly didn't feel "good". Some comfort in knowing that bursitis means no structural damage. The pace was the harder part, tasted the metal. Tailed Peter Fratini for the middle of the race (I led the first mile but clearly wasn't going to drop him despite charging the uphills), up until the finish was in sight and let my long legs get to work.  A lot of surging in the pace (a lot of it from me). There was a third guy that was with us up until the very end, though he never took the lead. He looked like he might have a sprint so I needed to put a little distance in, and Peter did that work up the last little hill.

The pressure of going 6 for 6 was a lot (all personally inflicted, of course). The course might look short here because Peter (and myself, on his heels) were pretty aggressive on rounding corners. He said it was long last time, so that might be why he took such big inside turns (there are a lot of parking lot 90deg turns).
