Whew! Haven’t done a hard effort with uphill like that in a long time. Glad I had PR Trail Gloves & sleeves on for this danger fest. 
Started too late…Coming from Colorado the near 80° in the sun felt super hot…even with soaking my shirt, hat, and trail gloves to help out. This thing is so technical with footing and so twisty-turny that it’s almost impossible to get into any kind of a groove. I really struggled on the middle mile and just never really got cooking on the downhill. 
MB Carbon shoes with low cut socks and gaiters was on point.
Man I love the Arizona desert!
