Couldn’t brave the cold

Maybe smelt the roses a bit on this, over 20 AT hikers were finishing today and I got to witness some of them touch the sign to officially finish their trek. I may have teared up, so inspiring.

As for trail conditions.. a little wet from rain day before and overcasted. I WAS NOT expecting a scramble like that up Katahdin, then the loose rocks on the way to Hamlin also took me for a spin. Had my first fall of the trip there (still managed to get 2nd on that segment!). Overall, a slow start but fun to talk to the people.
