We took our 12 year old boys up Katahdin.  430am wakeup, race to the Baxter gate to wait two hours to get a standby for Avalance.  Walk 1.6 miles to Russell Pond and up Cathedral to the summit and then down Knife’s Edge to Helin Taylor.  For a group of 12 year olds, they handled the sketchy Knife’s Edge in the clouds like champs…and the 11 hours of boulder hopping.  Memorable day all around!‍
