Halloween Run

I finished off the Iron Mine Meander, and started back in the Hasty Highlander.

The hills got bigger and more frequent, and the roads turned into atv trails with lots of sandy and rocky sections. My legs were definitely feeling it by the end of the day. One atv trail had a note on it saying “waist deep water crossing”. I didn’t think it would be too bad. I crossed a small stream that was only a foot deep and I thought that mist have been the water crossing they were talking about, but of course I was wrong. I turned a corner and could see an entire lake had taken over the trail for about a 200 m stretch. So i hoped off my bike, carried it on my shoulder and started walking across. In the middle the water was above my waist and half way up my torso. and it was freezing cold water. I survived it though, but the worst part was about 10 km later I had to stop in the town of Kinmount to get some food, now soaking wet.
