Hard to encapsulate 200 miles of racing. But today was very hard. The field was super strong and resilient. No matter what I tried on the climbs, I could not break it down to less than 9. The 9 of us then were together the entire second half. Many attacks were thrown. Most were shut down except for Danny’s insane attack at 3km to go. He stuck it we were a little too late. Came down to a sprint for the podium and I was fortunate to sneak the last spot. Very proud of this result. Lotoja is a very tough race for me and so to podium in the P12 field means a lot. I have consciously tried to target my weaknesses in cycling (flat riding and sprinting) and no better way than a 200 mile race for 200 meter sprint.
