There's probably a reason this slow FKT has been around for 5 years (40 miles, 9:46 FKT). About 22 miles in the "trail" simply became impassable. Downed trees, a network of overlapping briers and blackberries, and no sign of an actually trail other than a piece of plastic nailed to a tree. After some time wallowing around in this shit-show i headed back for an exit. Disappointing to see the lack of maintenance on a NRT.

The wilderness area was gorgeous and i was gleeful to see the mountain laurel. Beautiful day and all in all a wonderful experience. It's a shame because i was on pace to beat that time too!
