Continuing my TTTT efforts with the Oakwood Valley loop. Wasn’t sure I could get this since the KOM was dropped by 20 seconds a few days ago. Didn’t even think I was on pace to get it until I finished and realized I had. GAP is ok, nothing crazy. Then I proceeded over to the top of old springs and ripped the downhill, taking 10 seconds off my best time. This I was quite surprised by because I felt I was in better shape when I set that time and also more comfortable on trail downhills. I think my shoes really helped though, they’re much more cushioned and have better energy return than what I was wearing back then, which makes them great for a high speed downhill like this.
