tHe LaSt StRaW 🙃🫠 components worn, chain drops, it happens

as many of you know my components are pretty worn and I wait until the last minute to change out my components. the course was also bumpy as hell with one particular corner with numerous potholes and gravel causing me to break and my chain to flop

so my chain dropped 4/5 laps in, and spent the entire rest of the race half a lap back trying to catch back up. thinking it was a lost race, the field seemed to slow and I managed to catch up with 2.5 laps to go, even feeling probably good enough to sprint it out at the end. but ofc, with 2 laps to go, my chain drops again and I know i’m done
